99 Sherco 290 Trials transmission question

Recently got back my old Sherco and the tranny seems to be shot or something. Skips out of gear while coasting or trying to start. Does anyone know if the motor is a Sherco motor or a GasGas motor. I know some of the GasGas motors have had tranny go out.

Looking for any info to start to fix this.?

the motor is Sherco's own and its still the same in the newest bikes.

I didnt know sherco made the 290 in 99.

i know theres a tranny adjustment on the gg 2-ply addressed one time and i think it was a nuetral adjustment? i think your problem is small,if it shifts thru all the gears and doesnt grind,im sure sherco has somekind of website or dvd.drain the tranny and take a gander,who knows if you just got it back the fluid could be toast

The shaft of the shift lever is eccentric and can be adjusted (as of '03). Is that what you are talking about?

I believe the management of Sherco are former gasgas employees, thus somethings are similar, but not shared.

You should get in touch with Ryan or Brad at www.rypusa.com they are the importers and very knowledgeable.
