"Stinkbugging" after installing 18" Trials Tire

Recommended Posts

After swapping to an 18" rear and a Dunlop Trials tire my XR 200 can climb pretty much anything. However, with the new rim and tall sidewalls it feels like the back end has been raised. The handling just feels odd. Anyone else run across this issue? The forks are down as far as they will go

Yeah you may look like a muscle car of the 70's. You need a different front end over stock. I used a 86cr125 myself, but many other xr's (250-400-600) would work.

I put a trials tire on a crf230. Luckily i have a works shock that has adjustable length and preload.

the height issue can be a real problem. the increase in diameter also changes your overall gear ratio.

BBR makes a set of triple clamps for the stock 230 that alllows you to slide the forks down further, if you could find something likew this for the 200 you would be in good shape.

one other option would be to find the talest front tire that you can find.

the trials tire is awesome in the woods!!
