Inner or outer chamber...suspension ?'s

Recommended Posts

When adding fluid to decrease bottoming, do you add to the inner chamber or to the outer chamber? This is for the AOSS forks.

Also, would adding the supplied spacers from the fork springs make them stiffer?

The spacers add preload. The fork will not settle as much when your sitting on the bike. Its like adding preload on the rear.

It does nothing to make it stiffer.

As for the forks, it is the outer chamber. I found even 5cc's of oil is noticeable so add it slowly.

Can't say I ever noticed much. Guess I'm not a sensitive rider. I kind of slam into things...I don't know why but brute force sometimes works. But the suspension don't like it too much. Which in turn makes me not like it...lol.

I do have my springs matched to my weight. maybe that made a difference???

Still, you can add oil right through the bleeder on the fork cap. Its really easy to put in if you let the fork suck it in. Its a PITA to dump out. Much easier to add it in slowly while testing.
