2006 YZ 450F in Colorado Jetting

Recommended Posts

Hi I have a 2006 YZ450 F with a FMF Q exhaust, otherwise the bike is stock. I recently took the bike to Walden Colorado and the bike was running very poor (no low end what so ever, hard starts when hot). Walden is about 8300 feet and 90 degrees. I will be riding a lot at rampart range here soon and don't want to experience the same things. I did some research and came up with the following jets......Can someone please confirm

48 pilot and set the fuel screw at 1.5 turns out to begin with. The needle is fine on the 4th clip (stock). Your main is a 165 - that's fine for temps below 75 and altitudes below 5000', but if you go higher than that (temps or altitude) you will want to run the 162 main.

So 48 Pilot fuel screw at 1.5 turns main at 162.

Thanks for the help, I am a newb to this carb thing, where is my EFI?

-Andy
