When was 4-bolt rear brake rotor used?

Recommended Posts

I won a pair of DRZ400S wheels on eBay. The rear brake rotor is mounted to the rear hub with 4 bolts, while my '08 S has 6 bolts. Is there a year where that change occurred? Just want to know for parts ordering purposes.

Actually, I have not test fit them to the bike yet. I hope they are as advertised.

Thank you, folks.

I hope they will fit. I am going to test fit them ASAP. Caveat emptor.

Who wants to place bets on how quickly he returns bitching about how they don't fit... :)

Nice...

I would return to follow up and share what I learn. Bitching here won't accomplish anything.

Update: I still don't know anything about what these wheels came from. The chainring to brake rotor distance is about 2.3 mm narrower than my OEM wheels. One spacer was lost in shipping, the remaining does not seem to line the chainring nor the brake rotor in close proximity of the OEM wheels positioning. The overall width between the outer edges of the wheel bearing is a good 6-7 mm narrower than the original hub.

The seller is working with me to make it right.
