Changing Fork Springs 04 Yz250

Recommended Posts

So I finally got some new fork springs as the stock one's were far too soft.

Anyway I'm going to put them in myself, however in reading the instructions and on the box it says that I need to put spacers in the bottom. What I wanted to do was just pull the caps off, push the springs out from the bottom and pull them out and just drop in the new ones. So my question is, if the springs are the same length as the stockers do I really need to insert spacers at the bottom and how do I know how many to put in there?

standard spring length of your fork is 480mm

If your new springs do have the same length, no action has to been taken.

If they are shorter youi need as much spacer as it is necessary to get the 480mm

eg new springs 475mm = 5mm spacer.
