Where can I find a decompression plug?

Recommended Posts

I noticed the other day I was missing my decopression plug (I think thats what it's called) for my 2004 YZ250F. I called the TT store and they no longer make them. Anybody know where I could find this part?

Also, Do you think I caused any damage while riding without the plug?

Thank!

You can find them on eBay pretty easy. Most are advertized for the Yamaha 450s, but they are all the same. That's where I got mine.

TT store has a 'kit' for this.

or you could by the $2.50 yamaha plug, use a good sealer and stake it in place with a punch to keep it from popping out again......

Lets see $20 bling that adds nothing and can almost be seen or a $2.50 part that with 5 minutes of time can work just as well and be just as reliable....Most would go for the bling, me personally would go for the $2.50 fix and spend the money on oil or an extra air filter....

Make sure the valve cover vent hose is not crimped by a clamp. This is the biggest cause of the plug getting pooped out...:)
