2001 YZ426 Jetting for Warmer Weather

Recommended Posts

I followed the JD suggestions for my conditions to use the blue needle, 4th clip, and a 170 main. This seemed to work fine in 40 degree weather. Then when it warmed to 65+ degrees, I dropped to a 165 main which made a big improvement.

I've been riding in hot humid weather (80+ degrees) and mid to full throttle doesn't feel as crisp as it used to. Am I crazy, or are these conditions enough cause to rejet?

All my riding is 300-500 feet above sea level, and I have a very unrestrictive Thunder Alley pipe, which is supposedly tuned for low-end.

What needle and clip position works best for these conditions?
