Knee pain (after riding)

Recommended Posts

Hello

I am having some intense and very local knee pain in the center of my right knee usually after riding or during the last hour of riding. If the trail has a lot of jumps, whoops etc. the pain comes early I would say. It can last for a couple of days after without taking any medication.

I normally run and do weight lifting without any pain or disconfort...it just happens when riding. I kind of feel the right knee weak or twisted.

I'm 33 years old and have not have this kind of pain since I was 20 and played soccer a lot. At that time I used a brace just because it felt better but without medical advice.

Any suggestions?

I will. Any recommendations of a specialist in Reno, NV guys?

I never go to the doc.

maybe try standing up/sitting down from up on the tank. The seat is a little taller there and it's not as far to stand up. My knees hurt (just under the kneecap) from essentially doing (sort of) deep knee bends standing and sitting from the lowest part of my cut down seat--when I moved up the transition wasn't so far and my knee pain went away. Just a thought. Do you (unconciously?) push down on your toes instead of letting your weight sink/relax down through your heels--that will cause knee strain too. Tight hamstrings are hard on the knees.

I do *exactly* as you say. I sit on the lowest part of my cut down seat and I push hard on my feet balls. I will experiment with other posture. Thanks.
