Effect of changing forks spring preload

Recommended Posts

How does changing the spring preload on forks using the preload adjuster effect the handling of the bike?

Bike is an 08 250 EXC-F (XCF-W)

Thanks

it makes it firmer in the first part of the stroke and will hold the bike up a little higher without the rider weight on it.

So more than the two standard turns would make if firmer in the first part of the stroke and less would make it softer/plusher - is that correct?

Thanks:ride:

yes, but if it sags too deep into the valving then it gets into the harsher part of the valving. This is why its best to have the correct springs for your weight.
