possibly selling RM250, questions

Recommended Posts

Just curious what kind of luck people have had selling bikes lately. I've heard stories of 2 strokes taking months and months to sell. I'm strongly considering selling my 2000 RM250. It has a fresh top and bottom end, new clutch, new tranny, fairly new linkage and swingarm bearings, rebuilt rear shock, new tires etc. It doesn't look pretty, but it runs great. I'm hoping I could get 1700-1800 for it, and put the money towards a new bike.

It really depends on where you live. I can't say what the Washington market is like, but in Las Vegas you would be waiting awhile for the right buyer to come along for that price. I bought my 03 for $1400. Granted it needed about $300 to get it up to speed. You may want to clean it up real good and get new plastics and graphics so it looks as brand new as possible.

The other alternative is to sell it fast for cheap and make up the difference on the next bike you buy. Just a thought. Good luck with your decision.
