R muffler on X

Hi. I have an 06 250x and I would like to know if it is possible to just put on a R muffler and keep the X header. If so what year would fit and would I need to rejet. Thanks a lot. ?

Yes, the 04/05 R exhaust is interchangeable with the X's. You probably need to bump your main jet up a little due to more air flowing in from the unrestricted muffler.

I believe Service Honda has the full R exhaust pretty cheap....not sure about shipping and all that.

E-bay it! You can get a can for 50-75$. Or ask the guy's in the R forum if any one has a stock 04-05 take off.

Would a 04 R muffler fit on a 08 X? I think they do right?

got mine from there for 90 bucks shipped...slipped on like a glove...be careful with the gasket on the end of the header...be sure to properly torque the bolt at the header can junction...15 ft/lb(pg 151 of your owners manual)...rejetted with a 165 main, 5th clip on the red needle, 42 pilot, fuel screw at 2 turns out for fall/winter/early spring and ~1.25 turns for summer. oh the bike rips and sounds great too!!
