Got carb swap advice?

Recommended Posts

I surrender. My '02 400DRZS carb is toast and it is time to swap. I attempted a tear down, clean and rebuild last summer, and the bike is still running rich and missing, especially at altitude. Just three summers ago it was running great, and then I forgot to winterize the fuel system.?

I have searched this forum enough to know not to ask about the edelbrock!

Stock carb from Suzuki exceeds $400. No Keihin FCR in my future either.

Does either Mikuni or Keihin make a suitable replacement that can be had for less than $250, or should I just watch ebay, or ????? I see lots of Mikuni carbs new in the sub $200 range. Will I need any adapters for any of these, or will they swap right in?

I'm no racer. I ride primarily 8000' and higher, usually not higher than 11k. no engine mods currently on bike.

Thanks...
