Setting Carb for Altitude 08 CRF 250 R

Recommended Posts

Im planning on riding up a mountain pass, the altitude difference from base to summit is approx. 3000ft ( base 6000ft above sea level ). Do i need to change carb settings for running at higher altitude, as i usually only ride at sea level?

Thanks

The bike comes with too rich of a main jet stock... For running at 3000 to 6000 feet, I personally would use a 162 or 165 main jet. And adjust your fuel screw properly.

I have a JE high comp piston and MRD exhaust, I am at 2100 feet and am using a 165 main jet in my 08, I could go even leaner. So at the altitude that you will be riding at, you would def be fine with 165 or slightly leaner for the main.
