What Crank to Buy???

Recommended Posts

I demolished the bottom end of my 04 450 saturday night and am looking to put another one together. My question is what is the best crank kit to put in it with a big bore. I dont want to keep throwing rods and i need the best of the best.

Thanks in advance.

Send your crank out to Falicon -- Get them to rebuild it with their rod

You will have a nice and strong crank/rod assembly after -- their rods are a bit more than $200. Then they will install it and balance the crank.

yep , nice stuff , Phil at http://crankworks.com/ has a billet rod now too and is a full service crank shop , he does the cranks for alot of the factory MX teams , I havent price compared but it might be worth checking into if anyone needs a heavey duty crank :)

yes, Phil is a great guy and runs a top notch shop that does all of the top teams cranks .

the problem with big bores is they place a huge load on the poor little rod , --( not to mention vibration problems )--and they require a different balance factor in the crank and in the balancer shaft to try and help that big heavy piston.

Phil is on the cutting edge of getting this corrected------and his rods are the best.

when i have to develop any motor that is bored and or stroked , i always have phil do the crank work !!! :)
