Can you please help me with truck decisions?

Recommended Posts

I would like a truck that I could buy used for under 10,000. Im kind of leaning towards a manual truck just because theyre alot of fun to drive, but im thinking it might get old after a while. I also want to be able to haul several friends around in it.

What truck do y'all suggest would be a good one for me? What year? thanks guys.

I want a V8. I dont have a preference in the fuel department. Im going to be hauling some heavy loads on occasion. We sometimes pull our trailer with our jeep and fourwheelers on it. And Ill be pulling our boat from time to time. Im going to be going on long trips with this truck. I also want adequate room for the passengers.

GO with a 5 spd stick Cummins. 12V or 24V for the best fuel mileage

I pulled a #4000 boat and trailer threw the Rockies and didn't even know it was there.

Yea ...for the pulling power ,cant fault diesels .I have my 05 Duramax for the box trailer and bassboat ..Almost over kill . If not pulling that much all the time gas v8 prob more reasonable . I used to pull a 24ft camping trailer with 2 CR's in the bed with a 92 Toy sr5 ext cab 4x4 for 5 years .Only worry was being under bracked . Now a lil older and wiser-:) not much though

If I had $10k to spend, I'd look for an older Ford (mid-late 90's), F250 or F350crew cab (for hauling people) with a Powerstroke (for hauling loads). I'd probably look for a stick shift.

i would recomend a 94-97 chevy/gmc 6.5 diesel 4 door 3/4 ton or 1 ton

the motors are one of the longest lasting ones on the market they are a favorite of my freind who owns a diesel performance shop

Now's the time to buy a big truck...you could find a F250 crew cab 7.3 diesel 4x4 for under $10,000 but it'll have miles on it!
