what to do first?

Hey Everyone... I just bought a new 08 XR650L.(BRP) to go with my (BRT)... Got alot of ideas of what to do to it first, but, want some pointers from experienced riders. 1st off - how to get past the cold natured initial start? any ideas welcome. I heard of a baja jet kit. dont want to kill gas mileage at the same time... Please Help!!! Scott

First welcome to TT. Al the answers that you are looking for are here. In fact most have been answered countless times before.

The thing that you want to do first is called Dave's mod. It's a few changes to the carb that really help a lot. Use the search function to find out more about it. The search is your friend and will answer most of your questions.

Dave's mods does richen up the mixture and that will decrease the mileage. It is well worth the tradeoff. Then maybe the second thing that you will need is a larger gas take.
