Yeah! I'd like to know too.

I think the '08 received significantly better forks. 👍

We need RCannon to visit this thread. :worthy:

this more like it, mates...

'06 to '07 changes:

1. pro-taper bars from renthal;

2. new rear shock parts to decrease weight;

3. some reshaping of the outer tube design in the forks; and

4. updated jetting to N3EW from N3EJ needle.

'07 to '08:

1. wave brake rotors that are lighter from the previous round rotors;

2. fork stanchions are 4-mm shorter, new fork dropouts coming from YZ250F, low-compression valve and low-friction metal bushings; and

3. smaller front brake caliper and a smaller piston inside the brake master cylinder.

the '08 is 2 lbs lighter, mainly at the front end --- yamaha claims it to be the best handling YZ250 ever (apart from the '09, of course 👍)

Ditko's post is right on the money.

I believe the last MAJOR change was the front forks from 05-06. Sure, some of the changes were nice (bars and light brake pieces) but the forks were a huge mod.
