I would say that is a fairly reasonable deal, just keep up on your oil changes and keep a clean filter in her and youll be good to go, but before you do any riding i would check the valve clearance on it.

Check the FAQ.

Reported issues

1. Excess silicone sealant blocking oil scavenge pump screen

2. Loose shifter detent bolt causes shifter to pop out of gear

3. PART 1: Piston Pin failure - Initial Report

4. PART 2: Piston Pin failure - Confirmed Report, including serial #

5. PART 3: Piston Pin failure - Improvements to the OEM replacement with tips on how to replace it

6. Counter shaft sprocket retaining nut on VERY tight

7. Handle bars come out of alignement easily

8. Hitting neutral shifting down from 3rd to 2nd

For me:

#1 - Almost everyone has had issue#1 even with the 07's and up. Easy to check and clean screen.

#3 - To be safe, I replaced my piston at the beginning of 2008. I had the bike since new in 2006.

Other than that, bike still runs strong. A used 2006 around here (PA) is probably $2200-$3200. 👍

Good luck
