Bike Dies When Gassed

Recommended Posts

Alright, so I got this '90 125. Just pulled out of storage. Changed all the fluids and cleaned the carb, now it'll idle nicely but it'll choke out and die if I give more than a 1/4 throttle. Thought the bowl wasn't getting enough fuel, then thought, hey I'm in Denver, maybe it needs to be jetted but asking around I hear that it might be loss of compression through the reeds. I'm new to 2-strokes and any advice would be great. Thanks

pull the air filter. mice like to get in there and make a nest. There is a good chance there is varish throughout the the carb. clean it again and pull the jets. blow cleaner through all the jets and the ports as well. also pull the magneto cover off and check for rust.

clogged main jet, the pilot jet is responsible for fuel from idle to about 1/3 throttle......after that it is all main jet
