XL600r - Looking for parts

Recommended Posts

I have a 1986 Honda XL600r and I am trying to make it street legal again. I am looking for turn signals and the brake light and license plate bracket. I am also looking for a new front rotor. I've searched ebay and nothing is really selling for it right now.

Thanks for the help

For the rotor you are likely going to have to go new. I'm sure Honda wants an insane amount of $$$ for one so an aftermarket unit like a EBC might be your best lower cost option. Used rotors can be hit or miss. You could end up with one that is already worn out.

For signals just get soem generic mini-stalk units, unless you need DOT markings to pass an inspection. You can get DOT compliant ones from the companies that sell dual sport kits, like Baja Designs.

If you want a stock license plate bracket you are going to have to keep an eye on ebay. Otherwise go aftermarket. I just attached the plate on my XR600 right to the rear fender with some zip ties.

I have the rear fender with light & plate bracket, both front signals with mounting brackets & 1 rear signal.

let me know if there's any other parts you need, I have a front wheel with the rotor but I'm not ready to break them up yet.

PM me with your phone number if your interested

Frank

I agree with Cleoanrd, use aftermarket stuff. I didn't like the big floppy indicators so put smaller, tidier ones on it. I used an aftermarket rear mudguard (fender to you guys) and cut a license plate holder out of the metal plate that is on the underside of the original mudguard.
