How Long To The New Muscle Disappears?

Hi Doc,

Someone once told me something about how long specific muscles last after building, before denigrating from no use? Does this differ in respect to tone vs strength?

For those of us that want to be ride fit, but struggle with other commitments to get on the bike as regular as what im guessing we need to (to keep the muscle) do you have any tips?

Should we try really hard to replicate the movements of riding when training, or not worry too much, just train for general fitness?

Even if we cant save the muscle, does the mind and body have "memory" about how the body uses the muscle? Does this memory get more efficient as say the eg rides per year increases?

The muscle doesnt' dissapear absent a serious injury to its nerve.

Try to stay fit in the gym during the week, emphasizing cardio on the bike, and a weight program.
