back problems please help me.

Recommended Posts

3 days ago I was riding with some buddies. I haven't been riding for almost two months since I was in another country. Anyways so I went riding and ten minutes out in the desert my front wheel diggs into the sand I flip over the bike like a gymnastic and the bike hits me in my back. I landed on some huge rocks first though. The speed wasn't that high. I wear all kind of protection and we kept on riding for maybe 3 hours after the crash. I was fine when we were riding.

I bruised up my right leg and hip but that's about it.

But I have been working out hard as normally the days after I went riding. The day after the crash I relaxed and then I started working out again. After stretching out today and yesterday I suddenly felt this huge pain in my back. Everytime I move my back , for example if I go out of bed or if I drop something and bend down It hurts and when I go up it hurts as well. It hurts in my lower back. More on the right side of the lower back. It is really starting to bothering me cause whatever I do it hurts. What can I do to recover my back? should I take a day off again and let my body relax and recover? I was thinking of going riding again on thursday or friday. But I am scared I will just damage my back even more?

I am still young and follow a strict diet and workout a lot. So im in top shape if you need to know :worthy: So how long do you think my body needs to recover?

Any kind of help or tips is greatly appreciated  I just want to go ride again :busted:

Does it do down into the leg? I would stretch out as much as possible. Rest and use ice on it. If it is not getting any better go to a Chiropracter. I get that from time to time. Sciatica is what the chiro calls it. I have tight hamstrings and when I get them stretched it makes it a bit better.

Get an MRI to see what is going on in there before you get snapped and popped. You could make maters worse if you don't.

No it doesn't go down into my leg. I stretch out for 30 minutes, 4 times a day. And the more I run or stretch or lift it just gets worse and worse. Today when I woke up my back hurt when I went out of the bed :worthy:

I have started to rest and I put some pain releving solvent for the muscles and the bones that helps me before I go to sleep, but after that it just starts to annoy me again.

Is Sciatica something that you just get randomly or is it caused by an injury?

Thanks a lot for helping out

I will get an MRI to see what is going on. Should I just tell them to take a MRI of my whole back cause if I tell them to MRI the lower back they will go :worthy: They won't understand. So I'll just tell them to MRI my whole back

Go to a doctor, preferably a back specialist. A Chiropractor does not have near the same level of training... Get a real diagnosis and don't make guesses about your back.

Once you have a diagnosis, then you can figure out the next step.

My back is actually starting to get better. I worked out today and stretched out a lot and the pain is starting to ease away slowly. So I will wait 2 more days and if I still feel any pain then I will go and see a doctor.

Thanks for helping out

Glad you are feeling better. Sciatica, I think, is just something that comes on over time. It feels like it is caused by a injury but it is caused from everyday wear and tear. What help me the first was to stop putting my wallet in my back pocket while sitting. I guess it was kicking my back out of alignment and causing the Sciatica. Also I bought a new (good mattress). Good luck. Keep working out and stretching. Also ride as soon as you can tolerate it. Riding helps as long as you do not queak it again!

Thanks! I am going to ride tomorrow hopefully. Thanks for the tips by the way

Sounds like you probably just had a strained muscle. Mine has done that a few times in the same spot. It's a hard muscle to stretch out good. But after giving it some rest and stretching it out, it eventually goes away. Make sure you lift everything properly for the next few weeks or it will come back. Bend at the knees, not the waist, etc. Sometimes you can get a knot in that muscle too.....which I have right now. Have to keep rubbing it and trying to work it out.

Thanks for the tips. I know how to lift properly, I always make shure I am lifting right and that I am not damaging my back. I think I just hit my back muscle pretty hard and gave it a big shock so it got stiff. But now I barely feel anything, so riding tomorrow will be great tomorrow. Anyways thanks for the tips and being supportive. Have fun riding and breaking your bones :worthy: Shouldn't be saying that I am going to ride tomorrow

Go marry an ice pack for crying out out. Why do guys always complain when they are injured and then when you mention you know: "Are you icing it?" they freaking always say, "Uh, Nooooo. That's too much work."

:worthy: Sorry, just quoting my man in my life.

If it doesn't get better, you'd better go to the doctor and get it checked out. Until then, do some simple inexpensive treatment! Ice COST practically NOTHING!

haha I am not complaining. I know I have to ice it but it didn't help at all. That's why I asked here what I should do before complaining to the docotr :busted:

But just relax , what the hell? I am fine now. I think you are just jealous cause you never got injured :blah: And I always have ice ready. No problem at all:thumbsup: .

that's ok, haha I was just kidding with you. Keep on quoting on some other threads now

Like any treatment sometimes it takes a while for it to work. :blah: Or maybe it SEEMS like it's working 'cause your body is healing. Ha ha. Anyhoo, sorry. Having had PLENTY of pain issues I've found it does makes things better. It just takes a while, unlike downing 800 mg of Advil.

OK,

I'll bite.

What was, "something else" that worked?

RH

Haha new someone was going to ask that. I put on a solvent that releves pain in the muscles and bones. I bought it from the pharmacy at the hospital a while ago. Are you injured and can't get help since you're asking?

Sounds like my problem. Except i went to the doctor, they sent me for an xray, told me it was a kidney stone making my kidney enflamed and once i pass it, it will feel better. Then i went to a specialist and they told me i didnt have a kidney stone, so i gave up and I have been living with a bulge in my right side lower back, with excruciating pain for 9 months now.
