hour meter shorted out?

I have a hardline hour/tach meter on my bike and my brother came back from borrowing my bike in Vermont for a week and now the hour meter shows up as a bunch of 0's. I didn't check if the RPM's still works but what could have caused this? Maybe it got too wet and shorted out?

Im not sure about the hardline HM, but my yamaha one is totally sealed, ive had it completely soaked and have had no problems. I cant think of anything else

make sure the pick up wire is not touching ground, if its grounded out to the frame it can cause a problem. try that first

Mine did the same thing on my pinger! But it read 9030... and only happens when at a sand track where the clutch is the only ting I use to slow down...

All 00000's means your bike has reached the end of its lifespan. Its time to start looking at a new steed.
