Good news

Recommended Posts

I'm riding an 04' 250X.

Two years to the date I rebuilt my X and went with a 270 kit and an new 06' head that was re-valved by Ron Hamp with SS intakes and beefier springs (and yup - right intake went out on the old 04 head)

I have approximately 80 hrs on this new setup.

The good news.....

Being that I am at 80 hrs, I posted a thread regarding top end rebuild and how is the best way to determine WHEN it is time. It was suggested that a Leak-down test be performed and I took heed to that suggestion (Thank you Agent Smith).

WELL the test came back from the Mechanics and they said I was at 4% leakage at the rings. No notice of leakage at the valves (intake or exhaust)...

SWEET 👍 (heck, I read that 10% leakage is considered good)

Although I have already purchased a new piston and rings from TR, I'll just set them aside and save them for an alternative rebuild date.

I think I'm good for another season!! (knock on wood):worthy:
