destroyed forks 2004 crf 250

i have a 2004 crf 250 the i recently put brank new honda fork seals in they still leaked so i decided to order the bushing set thinking my bushings were wore out well i put that in with another set of brand new fork seals and they still leak has anybody heard of the lower tubes wearing out and also could you tell me the specs of the tube and if they are wore can i get them fixed or do i have to buy new ones

you probably cut the seals when putting them on the lower stantions! Did you use anything to protect them from the sharp edges?

nope when i put the first set in and then had to pull those ones out to put bushings and another new set of seals in and the used ones were just fine also the seals leak evenly all the way around the tube

then im guessing they got cut in the edges of the fork

Did you stick a plastic bag over the fork tube before putting the seal on? If you didn't you probably cut the seal.

Make sure you carefully wiggle it on with the baggy in place. Make sure there is oil on the seal as well. And that you have it on the right way.

Probably have a nic or burr on the forkleg that is ruining the new seals. Way common on mx bikes. It can be polished out.

I had to replace a worn leg on a 07 kxf.Showas.The chrome coating wore off in streaks.You could barley see it but if you held it in the light You could see bronze like streaks down the leg.I might have to do the other one as it is possibley leaking now too.I think it was about 200.00 for the lower leg.
