I changed my DR250se front sprocket from 14 to 12.

Makes it a much better dirt bike.

Short first gear for steep hills.

Top speed is now 55 instead of 70.

I have changed sprocket size several times. Well depending on what your looking for will depend on what sprocket you want to change. I use renthal sprockets, if you go to there website it explains everything about change gearing. It also has a chart so you know how much you change it. Plus you will be able to use there model specific to see what your stock gearing would be. I hopethis helps out.

Thats strange.

My '90 250s has 12/53 gearing and I know it will do at least 60 mph. What size rear sprocket are you using?

It's great for off road and for around town but the sprocket combination is pretty noisy... not good for the chain or sprockets.
