Good place to stage/park my truck around Hinkley or Harper drylake

Looking for a good safe place to leave my truck in the area around Hinkley or Harper drylake. riding from the house to get there is getting old and is a waste of miles.

I have seen people stage from the parking lot of the Hinkley store . It would probably be a good to ask permission first though .

I would like to know this as well.

...Im thinking Hinkley store too. If the management doesnt mind?

I don't think they mind, since I have seen guys stage there, while we were gassing up. Then, saw the same guys in R-burg, so their truck was right in front of the post office all day. According to them, they park there all the time with no problem. Personally, I would cross Harper and stage by the tree, or, if you remember Mike, the trail we crossed the 58 on, either North or South of it, would be a good spot.

I wouldn't stage anywhere near Hinkley other than the store or someone's house who you know and trust. The tree is a good place to stage. I have staged there before and no problems. There really aren't very many vehicles that make it out that far, so you should have no issues there. Plus the tweakers don't start scavenging until later in the afternoon, and they've already taken the cattle guards.

I will have to get back to you on this one ...

Trying to buy an older yz125 w a green sticker. I came across a 2004 that is green sticker. Per the owner "CA used to do a lottery thing on a certain year and bike and it was the 04 125 that got the green sticker".
I am gonna confirm the VIN, but was wondering if it's in fact true that CA issued green stickers with a lottery system for 2003 and newer bikes?
I tried searching and couldn't find anything.
Thank you all for you advice.

I just picked up a 2018 YZ250X and need to do my break in. How gnarly is Rowher Flats after rains like we just had? I'm thinking about heading there Sunday. I moved to LA last year and I've only been there 3 or 4 times, but so far I enjoy the riding there more than most of the "day trip" locations.
Not the biggest fan of Hungry Valley, but I imagine HV is ok despite the rain this week.
Side note, how bad does the road in to RF get after weather like we just had?
