rm80 hard to start and has very little bottom end

my bike is extremely hard to start it takes about 15 kicks to get it started, it has a brand new plug in it, when i do get it running and take off it does not have enough power to get going and bogs down and dies i am pretty sure it is not my carb it is getting gas just fine when it is standing still, it can rev high or low. please help

How old is the top-end??? That would be my first guess.....

if not top end, check reeds bad reeds like to mimic a bad top end

if not top end, check reeds bad reeds like to mimic a bad top end

That was my second guess.....

the the top end i assume is as old as the bike itself so 17 years or older, i have purchased a wiseco light piston for it standard size and i have found that i have a leaky gasket so i am guessing that would cause the problem
