Dr650 Faq

Looks like this FAQ has been out of date for a couple years! Here are some current links that might help a few. No FAQ or good info thread should be locked out from

Editing. Not Good! But try the ones below for more info if required.

The Zen Seeker DR650 site is one of the best I've seen:

http://dr650.zenseeker.net/

And of course, ADV Rider has a couple good DR650 sources. One is the topic specific Index Thread, very useful and brief:

The other is the ~~~ G I A N T ~~~ DR650 thread, now up over 10 million views. Very small group of guys currently posting, most friendly and a good place to get quick answers to questions!

Retractable brake pedal exist for DR650SE(2006)?

I'm about to buy a '2000 DR 650 and its got just 20,000 kms on it. I wanted to post a pic of it but the add online is gone.

The bike fired up after a couple turns ( I didnt grenade it or even touch throttle just to see if it would start on its own ) ( I guess its normal for them to be like that ) . The bike sounded good. No smoke.

Can anyone please tell  me what I should look, or listen for. ??

The only thing he said needs done is the sprockets a little bit worn.

Thanks a lot in advance. I appreciate it

There are a list of known "issues" with this solid bike. See link for DRriders;

A wealth of info but if you want a quick rundown of essentials;

Or,

Even better...a short video!

Lots to learn and love about the beast.

I'd replace the brake fluid, at least, and maybe the brake lines, too. Grease the wheels, change the fork oil, make sure the clutch cable is good. Change the oil and check/adjust the valves,and you should be good to go.  Replace both sprockets and the chain, if they're worn out.
