12v Switched Powerpoint for air pump

I found this stuff at the local walmart in the auto parts section for about $16 pump and all included. I already had the carbon fiber switch. This project was inspired by a riding buddy who gets a lot of flats. I mounted the 12v plug to the bottom of the battery box and wired to the switch and the negative ground. Never have a problem with flats again. Very cool.?

You plan on carrying the pump along with you? Whats the purpose of the switch why no just have the 12v plug hooked up all the time? its not draining any power.

because the switch allows me to turn on and off the pump because it has no on off switch, otherwise I would have to unplug it and plug it back in. The less time it is on the better. Besides the carbon fiber switch is cool.

I installed that same outlet, although in my case I put it behind the headlight cowl. I use it for my GPS but it can double as a 12v power source for a pump, heated clothes, cell charger, whatever.

Pretty cool idea. I would add a kick starter and do the free power mod, if you haven't alrwady. The DRZ battery is not the best for an add on like that.

Thats where mine is as well, my only warning Rock Monster, is make sure its well sealed on the back of your bike like that. The lid seems to seal well, but all it took was me forgeting to unplg my gps and a bit of rain, and the plug corroded pretty bad. A little di-electric grease could help ward off corosion.
