FMF megabomb, Q4 titanium, k&n free flow filter, fmf jet kit

Recommended Posts

i just received my package from the us:

the only things i can report for now is the weights of the exhaust parts:

megabomb 490grams

midpipe 400grams

q4ti silencer 1910grams

the jet kit has a guide for carb adjustment specific for my crf450r 2003

you think i should follow this or go to an expensive mechanic with dyno in shop, fit exhuast filter jet kit an then dyno tune it? (much more expensive)

im near sea lvl and the jet kit guide has specific info for me

what do you think?

the jet kit tuning guide is probably for an open muffler , the q4 is very restricted and will need to be jetted quite a bit leaner

thx for ur reply dh367

the only things altered in the kit is the needle- groove spot , main jet and fuel mixture screw

what of all these you think it should be changed?

and when you say leaner you mean even leaner than stock?

do you have any personal experience with the q4 -megabomb setup or the q4 alone or its ur personal view?

you think it would be worth the xtra cash for the dyno tune?

yes the Q needs to be jetted leaner than stock if you want it to run its best , the dyno tune would probably be best

with the megabomb+q4 without spark arrestor+k n high glow filter+jet kit

you think that my crf will loose peak hp

or in other words,

less top end?

the Q4 is designed to be very quiet , you cant baffel back that much noise without loosing peak hp , you could baseline the bike on the dyno with your stock pipe and then put on the Q and you will know exactly how much
