My 03 Wr450 dirt to street project

Recommended Posts

your catching up to me!! i've been lazy hehe

haha i would have alot more done if my stupid swingarm bearings would get here. Once i get most of the hard parts on im going to tackle the wiring. The baja designs kit is great, but it has lots of extra wire and is basically its own system, designed to fit on as many bikes as possible. I want to rip the whole thing apart and re-wire it all, basically a wire tuck haha and move some things around so my tank and battery fit better. Once i hit this part its going to be awile before i get the full body on.

- I am also going to make a mount for my valentine radar to sit just above the headlight and a license plate frame to mount on the axel.

- What kind of taillights do you guys use? I have a led tail and turn signals but i want a cleannn look. I want either a hayabusa or SV650 taillight. Both have the turn signals in the taillight its just a matter of making them work and mount up

SV would look NASTY once i mount it up. votes please

I have about 3 months until it warms up here in NY so i am in no rush, but i really do want to :busted:

Leave the forks gold, nice contrast. Too much black and you'll start to look like Streethawk :moon:

Finally got my wheels in the mail yesterday so i decided to mock up the front end. I will be ordering a black top clamp and 7/8's bars tonight, along with some sort of front brake rotor. back tire is a 160!!!! its huge, these pics dont do it justice

Dude! Your swingarm pivot bolt.. Has it ever seen grease? Might wanna take that thing back out, vigorously apply some steel wool to it, and then generously lather that puppy in some water-proof grease.

good eye!

haha oh i know, i just put it in so i could torque down the rest of the motor mounts. when i finally get my damm swingarm bearings i can put the swingarm on. believe me i have a giant tub of maxium bearing grease

really like the all black idea!! you might have to trim side of that 160 tire to prevent chain hitting it, I have 150 on mine and the edge is chewn, there was a thread in WR forum where guy is offering chain guide with side walls to protect wheel and frame

yea i knew it was going to rub. Whats that guys name ill send him a pm thanks
