cr85 expert or kx100 for trails?

well i've read a bunch of threads comparing them but none have completely satisfied me so i wanna get more opinions...

is the cr85 expert or the kx100 better for trails?

from what i've read, it seems that the kawasaki makes a calmer engine, less hard powerbands and topend, but still fast...

is this correct?

which do you think is better for trails?

i ride some fast trails, but some slow with tree hopping, going slow, etc.

i'm still going to jump it though and open it up on roads and stuff

my friends litte brother had a cr 85 that was all worked up. it had balls i thought. he just got an 07 kx100. he is still "breaking it" in and he says that it has alot more power. i mean obv its got more displacement. point is he likes the kx.

if the trails you ride are sloped and stuff i would go with the one thats geared lower with more bottom end, ive heard the kx100 has more bottom than the 85s

I've ridden an rm 85 and kx 100 and there's really no comparison. The kx had a fly wheel weight and was geared down and would lug me up and down hills without stalling pretty easy. The rm on the other hand was difficult to keep from stalling.

The hit on the kx is pretty strong and there when you want it. It will lift the front with me on it and I'm 6' 180 lbs.

i had a kx100 and have ridden a friends cr85

theyre both pretty ballin lol.

get the KX100 ....... way better.

My daughter went from a CR85 to a KX100 and the KX100 is much better for woods riding. The KX has a better powerband for it and has never overheated it the really tight stuff - the cr85 has overheated a couple of times.
