THE suspension thread, any tech info, put it here

Recommended Posts

I wish I knew her to introduce her to you :smirk:

On my page only she appears, but you seem to see…many

Good find MRW  after all she’s looking good….ok my bike has better “gummi” :smirk:

Yes, sometimes my "mouse" clicks by accident:thinking:

Derangedhermit !, This is a program for a twinn-tube design damper with no shims on the main piston and a go thru piston rod[...]

What would make me spend big bucks on suspension:

- a selection of pistons and stacks with published test performance (e.g. Ohlins X-stacks)

- software like for that Ohlins (auto?) shock

- ease / speed of tuning / swapping (e.g. TTX44)

So far I have not seen anything from KYB or Showa or even Penske that approaches the appeal of Ohlins on the above items.

I don't see a motorcycle product that has all these things, even from Ohlins - but I'm no guru on what's available.

Does such a thing exist, and if so, where is it? What comes closest?

Öhlins has the very same for bikes - just you don't get it.

Just certified Öhlins specialists with big $ volume/year have access to that program

KTM-Lew: That is some fantastic Ohlins info!

Please post the links for the Marzocchi data. (hehe)

That Ohlins info is so extensive it makes you realize the factory suspension manufactures aren’t doing much to support riders or the bike brands for that matter. Makes you wonder if there would be a big rush of riders over to one brand if the support was there?

Like was said , they want to support the dealers so they keep the money "in house"

I recently purchased a 2006 kx450f and the front forks are stiff as a board they barely move, they need fork seals will that fix the problem with them being so stiff or is there something else going on?
