piston question

I was inspecting my 05 kx 125 that i had just bought and I took the exhaust off to get a peak at the piston and i noticed that it had little hairline scratches or streaks on it. Is this normal? I was told to check for gouges or deep scratches but these were very fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

How many hrs. are on the top end? It sounds like you might need a top end and need to bore the cylinder.

chances are nothing to worry about...but a new topend is cheap

I was told it had maybe 10 hours on it since the last rebuild. It seems to run great, starts right up and all that good stuff. I guess I'll just ride:ride:

It's probably just some light scuffs from a few grains of dirt getting through the filter.

Look at the old posts in this forum... waiting could lead to an expensive kablamo.
