Pilot circuit and air screw


When adjusting the slow circuit on a 2 stroke keihin carb I was wondering do the air screw and pilot jet work as one.

for example how does 48 pilot jet and 1 1/2 turns out on airscrew compare to 45 pilot jet and 1 turn on airscrew and at what point does this overlap?

Most of the jetting diagrams show airscrew and pilot as one thing but are they different?

Basically is changing the airscrew the same as fitting a different pilot jet?
