kdx 125 will not start

hi i recently purchased a non runner kdx 125 1991,the head gasket was blown,i changed it,replaced the head as previous was pitted,i have compression,have a spark,have fuel going to the carb,but it will not start!does anyone have any ideas?ive stripped the carb to the best of my knowledge cleaned it all,all seems ok to me,i am quite new to motorcycles so need al the help i can get!thanx,tom

How much compression? If it's 125+ then try putting alittle pre-mix down the plug hole if the spark plug is dry. If it's wet and still not starting then look at the position of the stator plate. The mark should be in the middle.

check reed valves and hold them up to light and if you can see light there trash. next put some starting fluid on spark plug and into top end.
