Boken plastic seat posts

O7 X, on the bottom plastic part of the seat there are two posts that rest on the bikes frame. Mine are starting to break and come apart is this a common problem or do I just need to loose some weight? Thanks

i have never heard of that. mine doesn't even show much wear and i am by no means small (290lbs geared up).

weird question, but, do you ever use cleaners that contain chlorine? If so, it causes certain types of plastic to become brittle.

I dont think it would be any of the cleaners because the rest of the plastic looks good. Does the top part of the air box add any support I cut mine off after the first few rides (rejetting)?

the seat doesn't sit on the airbox itself, but the aluminum subframe.

i weigh 155lbs and my seat posts are somewhat crushed. you can always fab some posts if it gets real bad. standing instead of sitting will do the trick

smustang I belive those plastic post are made to hook unger the metal tabs on the frame, not sit on top of them.

smustang You are welcome, I almost did the same thing myself.

Mine are cracked as well,that's what happens when you don't get that plastic piece to hook under the tabs on the frame.Works just fine without it.
