wr250X tires for rear?

Has anyone used a 150/70r or 150/60r tire on the rear of the x , I would like to go to a sport touring or dual compound tire like the bt o21.The factory tire was nice execpt no mileage.I would really like to hear from someone that has some mileage on a tire that size and what they would reccomend. thanx it's going to 51 today , maybe all the ice will melt . brian

Folks have been mounting Avon Distanzias (the SM compound) and Continental Contiforce SM in 120/70-17 and 150/60-17 without clearance problems. I'm getting the Continentals later this week, so I'll have more feedback once they're mounted and I have a chance to try 'em out.

Be careful, labeled sizes aren't actual sizes. For example, three different tire models from one manufacturer:

140/70R17 M/C 66H TT 4.00 3.50 - 4.50 627 146

140/70R17 M/C 66H TL 3.50 3.50 - 4.50 627 140

150/60R17 M/C 66H TL 4.50 3.50 - 4.50 620 156

140/60R17 M/C 63H TL 4.00 3.50 - 4.50 602 140

140/70R17 M/C 66H TL 4.00 3.50 - 4.50 632 146

150/60R17 M/C 66H TL 4.00 4.00 - 4.50 610 152

The 146 mm wide tire is the stock X tire.

I have Pilot Powers on mine. 120/70-17 front and 150/60-17 rear. I've only got about 1000 miles on them now, but they should last 6k+. A set of Pilot Powers lasted 6k on my R6 which puts a lot more to the ground than the 250X. Also the Pirelli Diablo Rosso looks like a good tire for the 250, and they're available in a 150/60-17. Also Pilot Powers are pretty good in the rain and cold.
