Joe, the hot start pulled out of the top of the carb I have loose cable end with stripped out plastic insert that pulled out of carb, is there a spring that should b reinstalled? I have none

There should be a spring.

Assembly is Hot Start cap, spring, cable through the cap and the end inserted into the plunger. I hate the OEM plastic cap, so lame.

Is there an aftermarket cap ?? I've never seen one. The hot start bits are the biggest rip off around. The Square oring on the plunger is over $30 here in Australia and dealers wonder why we buy from overseas.

Look toward the bottom of this page for hot start carb nut. I got one of these for our bikes, work great, ended plastic pulout problem.
