Plus 2mm Bore KX125 Piston Question

Recommended Posts

I'm rebuilding the top end on a '97 KX125. The cylinder has been bored over 2mm. The old piston has a symbol that is the letter w in an oval. It's not Wiseco though. The piston says 2.00MM on the top so it was specifically for a 2.00mm bore kit. Does anybody know what brand this piston might be? Anybody ever put a 2.00mm big bore kit on a KX125? All I need is this piston and I'll have this thing running.

I would't get to excited about it being a big bore...LOL !!!

I'm assuming that it is 2 mm over standard. (piston)

I also believe that is the limit.

The piston you have may not be a Wiseco, but Wiseco does make a 2mm larger piston for that bike.

Is there a name stamped on the outside of the cylinder? Like Max Power or RPMs? If so, they did the big-bore and supplied their own proprietary piston.

Thanks guys. I didn't know much about the 2mm bore limit. I guess it really isn't a big bore kit. What threw me off is that Parts-Unlimited doesn't list the Wiseco piston I need, but the Wiseco website does. The piston that came out of the engine doesn't have a name stamped, just a little symbol that is a "w" in an oval.
