14 tooth counter spocket

Recommended Posts

I just installed the 14 tooth front sprocket from Kientech. I should have done this last year, power wheelies in 2nd gear are now no problem. This is going to make the dirt riding a bit easier on the DR.

What carb do you have? Or, what is your setup with the OEM carb, etc. I can get the front end weightless in second but I can't get it to come right up. I am going to get a TM 40 with my tax return to fix that though... I really need the pumper for the trails I ride but the second gear power wheelies will be a nice bonus. What is your technique? Start speed? I know mine would probably come up if I sit at the back of the seat, but I don't want to back there when it comes up...

Dirtmonkey,

The carb is stock. Before the 14 tooth counter sproket I had to dump the clutch hard and pull back in 2nd gear maybe 15 mph to get the front end in the air. Now I just roll on the gas hard and the front comes up nice.
