rear rim on front hub

Recommended Posts

Can i use a rear wheel on a front hub?

Sure, as long as it's the diameter you want, the hole pattern and number of holes is the same. I laced the rear rim off of a 1972 XL250 onto the hub of a 1978 KZ400 to use on a 1975 XL350 flattrack bike.

I wanted a WM3 x 18 with no brake, and had the parts laying around, so it worked great for me.

Count spokes before you begin. Most J bikes are 36 spoke, some EU are 40 spoke and mini bikes can be 28-32 spokes.

Buchanan Spoke can custom drill rims for any hub and provide spokes the correct length.
