Antifreeze in oil ...

Recommended Posts

i have a 2004 CRF450 and i recently drained the oil on the clutch side and it was FULL of antifreeze , i had recent problems with a weeping water pump but i replaced the impeller, shaft, bearing, and both seals, i have no idea where the antifreeze is coming from....is the a main seal or head gasket ??? any ideas ??

had the same problem with my 05 and turned out to be a shot bearing in the engine dampener...the impeller shaft was bouncing around and causing the seals to stay open...after i changed the bearing it worked perfect...GOOD LUCK!

well o rings are a pretty easily detectable problem and a very cheap one at that...the crfs have 2 oil chambers and the antifreeze can only mix with engine oil from a blown head gasket and yours is in the trans so either try those bearings and check that your shaft is not scorred
