X swingarm linkage

Recommended Posts

Anybody know if the X linkage lowers the bike? I noticed a difference is seat height and ground clearance and wondered if the linkage was responsible.

They show different part numbers, so you may be right that the difference might be in the ride height. I've sat on both bikes in the showroom and the only difference I felt is the R is stiffer than the X. I'm only 5'7" so I'm vertically challanged to begin with and I couldn't put my feet on the ground sitting on either of them.

Probably 18 inch rear tire too, tire size is roughly 1/2 shorter.

It sure was when I compared my KX125 18" rear to my CRF250R 19" rear. Here were both 110 tires. I can get as much a 1.5 inches difference between an 18 and a 19 but the profile is different.

Some people are under the impression that all 18 and 19 inch tires have the same circumference, not you per say, but some do think that. In addition it varies by manufacturer. The exact same tire size will vary between brands and if you do that you can get as much as an inch of difference with the same size just rim difference.
