just completed:

rs2 yosh

3 x 3

160 main jet

JD blue needle

clip 4

stock 22.5 pilot jet

Keintech extended f/s

2.75 turns fuel screw

sea level

pair valve and solenoid removed

Then I connected this

brassnipple.jpg

with this small nipple on the fuel tank

tanknipple-1.jpg

Before starting the engine put fuel valve on PRI for about 20 sec and then switched to ON.

Fired the engine .. all good for about 1 min ind then the engine died and wouldn't start.

Dialed PRI and it started immediately.

Switched to ON and .. engine died again about 1 min latter.

It seems to me that the carb is not getting fuel in ON position.

What to do Eddie?

Cheers.

:p

Filled up the tank .. same.

It was idling for exactly 3min 10 sec, no reving etc and then died.

Dialed PRI and the engine started immediately.

Dialed ON (even tried RES), the engine died again after about 3 minutes.

Rechecked the fuel screw, 2.75 turns out.

This is how I plugged the hoses (no beer used) after pair removal (nipple on the top of the carb plugged the same way) ... (screw with hi temp silicone { .. thanks Jules})

This is how I plugged the metal hose from above the header (going to the pair valve)

Ok, above story was after jetting and 3x3 (rs2 installed 2 weeks ago) .. in my garage, idling and no riding .

This afternoon I've decided to go for a test ride :busted::crazy::lol:

Dialed PRI, started the engine, rode for about 30 minutes .. . no problem. Runs well, actually very well :banghead::banghead::lol:

Pulled over, switched to ON, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear ... end the engine died again.:foul::):p

Switched to PRI again, started ... no problem at all, .. pulled hard.

What is the reason for gas not reaching the carb in ON position?!?!?! {I believe this is the diagnosis (correct me if I'm wrong)}.

What is the remedy Eddie?

Cheers!

maybe its your petcock assembly. that happend to me on one of my bikes.

youll have to drain the gas and take apart the petcock and see if its closing and turning on all the way...maybe?

100% sure!

But ..

when searching how to do jetting I've found this

11.jpg

:banghead:

..so I did so and plugged the port on the carb with this

22.jpg

After realizing that petcock on the tank needs to be connected with port on the carb I simply disconnected the little plugged hose and connected petcock on the tank

tanknipple-1.jpg

with the carb port

sisica-1.jpg

That's when the problem started as there was no fuel in ON position.

Then ...

:banghead:

... bingo!!!!

Took the carb out again and found residue of silicone sealant from the small hose blocking the carb port.

Cleaned the thing and this is what was inside the port

silicone.jpg

Put it all back ..

.. no problems!!! :)

Thanks Eddie!

Thanks Eddie.

I've also blocked (with silicone) the small nipple on the air box (does it makes sense?)

as after par removal (solenoid and valve) I've also blocked this nipple on the carb

:banghead:

From what I understand prime dumps gas into float bowl like an mx bike, ON requires vacuum from intake manifold to pull gas..correct eddie?
