New 09 recommendations?

Recommended Posts

After all the excellent feedback you guys gave me, I picked up the 09 yesterday for my kid. Besides the obvious of pulling it apart and re-greasing everything, is there anything else I should do before he rides it minus going out and spending another $1000 on aftermarket stuff? I already ordered the springs for his weight. He's 145 lbs and the bike doesn't move when he sits on it. The camshaft was done yesterday before I picked it up.

Thanks in advance!

Charlie

Did they replace the decompression pin along with doing the camshaft?

change the front tyre, it'll stop him from crashing a little longer..

also check the allen key bolt around the airbox to make sure its tight!

My guess would be cooling for the clutch.

As I took this bike apart last night, I was overwelmed by the lack of grease and all the loose bolts. The steering stem and linkage bearings were almost dry. Someone must have screwed up on the swingarm, it had some grease in it. On the 2 new CRF250R I've bought, at least they tightened the bolts on it. I'm real anal about using a torque wrench, and nothing I took apart was close to the torque specs. Prime example as to why you should go over any bike before you ride them even if they are new.
