2005 Yamaha YZ250F

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what a 2005 YZ250F is worth these days?

Its been very well maintained, air filter cleaned every ride, oil and filter every 2. -engine was just rebuild with new crank shaft assembly, connecting rod, piston, rings, gaskets, new 06 cylinder, new 06 head, new valves, new cams, cam chain etc. Runs very good with about 20-25 hours on it valves in spec.

- O-ring chain, sprockets in good shape still have plenty of life in them.

- Front brake pads replaced recently as well

- front forks service with new oil and seals.

- New universal triple clamps and bars.

- Gas tank foam.

- Bike was striped down to lube all bearings.

- New front wheel bearings

I would check craigs list in your area to see what the average price is. If you can afford to keep it I would, no one in my area is buying anything right now.

Got any pics to post of it. I know here in Washington state I am seeing 04's and 05's going for as little as $1500.00 but if yours is in really good shape you could probably fetch another $500.00-$1000.00.

With receipts of the motor work it would sell for $2500 max

Now is a bad time to try and sell. I picked up my 06 at a local shop for 2,500. They took it as a trade in towards a new bike.

While the previous owner had it it dropped a valve.. put a hole in the piston and broke the connecting rod.. so they went ahead and replaced the whole crank assembly.. cylinder etc. I wish i had gotten recepts.

what does drop valve mean?

It means a valve broke and dropped into the combustion chamber.
