Painting White number plates on XRR?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody painted their white number plates??

How well does it hold up to moderate riding??

I am thinking about doing it VS. the alternative of buying the black plastics itself which is fairly expensive. or i will try this until it looks like like crap then give in and get the plastic.

Thanks

Try Krylon Fusion spray paint its made to bond to plastic. Holds up well on my side panels and easy to touch up if need be.:p

+1 Krylon fusion, it really works well

Lightly sand deep gouges/scratches first

Wash with simple green type cleaner let dry

prep with de-natured alcohol let dry

paint as per directions on can (multiple light coats)

don't touch for a couple of days

fully cured in about a week

Fusion may work. but it wont last.... One scratch, and it'll look like chit. Its just not condusive to a off road bike. I suggest getting colored vinyl sheeting and use as background.

Its kinda like painting chrome...You can physically paint chrome, but it wont last
